Factor influencing job satisfaction of employees: A study on BEML: India

Abstract

This article aims to study the job satisfaction of BEML(Bharat Earth Movers Limited) employees. For this study, five independent variables have been considered to determine the overall job satisfaction. These include Need, Mental satisfaction, Training, Communication and Performance Appraisal. Stratified random sampling method has been used and a sample of 150 respondent was collected from the three units of BEML which are located in Bangalore, Mysore and Kolar. With the Cronbach alpha of 0.9, the study concluded that out of the five independent variables, need has a significant relationship with the job satisfaction while the other factors are rejected based on the P values drawn from the study. The R square which is 0.27 concluded that need, mental satisfaction, training, communication and performance appraisal contribute 27% of job satisfaction while the rest 73% have other factors contributing to job satisfaction among BEML employees.
