Abstract

Traditional psychology has largely focused on understanding illness and dysfunction. Psychological capital, by contrast, focuses on desirable human experiences such as wisdom, creativity, vocation, and courage. A comparatively new focus in psychology has important implications for Human Capital Development (HCD). These implications can be examined using theoretical frameworks presented by Positive Organizational workplaces (POW). It is a discipline that focuses on desirable organizational outcomes and positive organizational attributes.

This paper describes five themes commonly used to categorize such positive attributes in the workplace. The Research aims to introduce the untapped human capital capacity of psychological capital (PsyCap).
