Benefits of Erp Software to supply Chain Processes in Manufacturing Industry

This paper discusses about the information flow of the material at different stages in a Supply Chain Management process in manufacturing industry. ERP software is benefiting to organizations through integrating all the functional department with accurate and timely information. ERP software also helps in some of the tangible benefits (effective control, reduction of paper work, better resource utility, better monitoring) resulting improved cost control, faster response, more efficient cash collection and achieve competitive advantage by improving its business process.

Successful implementation and integration of ERP system and SCM process helps in planning, decision-making, execution and increasing the organization's performance. This study examines the dimensions of SCM practices and ERP systems and tests the relationship between competitive advantage and firm performance. The research was carried out through literature review (case studies, research papers, journals and books). ERP software implementation and SCM process had revealed that the SCM practices and ERP system have positive effects on organization's performance and competitive advantages.
