Abstract

In simple words, CSR has been identified as the overall obligation and accountability of a business organisation towards the community identified as the overall obligation and accountability of a business organisation towards the community. In India, the concept and approach towards CSR is still evolving. The companies in India have designed their CSR activities in spheres of education, healthcare, environment, living and income and development of rural areas. Though these companies in India are making dedicated efforts but yet there is a necessity for more intense dedication towards society for which these companies need to resort to a more strategic approach by deployment of Triple Bottom Approach. This paper studies the concept of CSR and the CSR activities in India.
