Abstract

KMB is a new generation Private Sector Bank established in the year 2003; whereas INGVB is an old generation Private Sector Bank established in the year 1930. The merger of ING Vysya Bank with Kotak Mahindra Bank is the first of its kind in the recent past, wherein, two profit making banks have come together for the purposes of availing various synergies of merger.

The study on “Physical Performance of Kotak Mahindra Bank: Pre and Post Merger Analysis” is undertaken to analyse the pre merger and post merger physical performance of KMB and the impact of merger on the post merger physical performance of KMB.

The Study is based on Secondary data. Number of Branches; ATMs; Credit Cards; Debit Cards; and Employees are the parameters selected for the analysis of physical performance. Percentages and CAGR employed to analyse the pre and post merger physical performance and Gray Comparability Index is used to study the impact of merger on the physical performance. The study showed a positive increase in all the select parameters after the merger and GCI revealed a positive impact of merger on the physical performance of KMB.
