Human Resource Development Climate is one of the most important markers of the health of an organisation. Non-profit organisations which are at the forefront of providing vital services to the needy can often fall into the trap of neglecting the development of their human resource. Thus, the development sector has to take new approaches to human resource development and take measures to develop a congenial development climate. This paper examines the relevance of human resource development climate and its various sub-dimensions in detail in the non-profit sector. Particularly dealt with are the organisational differences that non-profit organisations have from the for-profit sector and the resulting human resource challenges
