Abstract

This paper presents an overview of hydrogen as a fuel and new technologies for hydrogen production from water, solar, biomass, etc., and its industrial application. It is a well-known fact that the worldwide reserves of petroleum are 1.65 trillion barrels and these petroleum reserves are predicted to be consumed in about 47 years. Another problem with petroleum is the harmful emission like, CO2, NOx, CO, and unburnt hydrocarbons which are the main cause of global warming and environmental pollution being faced by the world today. Further, the proper utilization of hydrogen energy and using hydrogen as a fuel are very attractive nowadays and also very essential today to overcome the environmental crises.
