Enhancing writing skills in english of engineering students-a novel approach

Aspiring engineering students are quite aware that the world is theirs, if they have communicative competence in English, besides a sound knowledge of their respective engineering disciplines. This research paper entitled Enhancing Writing Skills in English of Engineering Students-A Novel Approach begins with an introduction on the importance of English, and especially of effective writing skills for engineering graduates in order to have a rosy future. Authentic surveys on the writing skills of engineering graduates add value to the paper. It pinpoints the common errors committed by students of engineering while writing in English. Besides a brief discussion on some of the approaches to teaching of writing, the author advocates some novel approaches that could be experimented and implemented for the benefit of the engineering students.
