Much has been talked about emotional intelligence (EI) in the present millennium and its importance in different walks of life. This study was done to find out the relationship between EI and conflict management styles of MBA faculty members of 9 engineering colleges located in Bangalore South, affiliated to Visesvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. The sample consisted of 83 faculty members. The most preferred conflict management style used by faculty members in three classroom conflict situations were found out. The relationship between EI and conflict management styles was found out by correlation analysis. The data analysis revealed significant positive correlation between EI and collaborating style and negative correlation between EI and avoiding style in all the conflict situations addressed. The results also revealed insignificant relationship between EI and compromising style and accommodating style in the classroom conflict situations addressed in the study.
