For Human-Computer Interaction, human gestures are interpreted by a computer in the area of computer vision. Currently numerous researchers are working in this area to make Human-Computer Interaction user friendly. This paper describes the concept behind hand gesture recognition and gives a brief survey of the past and current research work which has shown significant results on hand gesture recognition.
