Abstract

The given paper gives the comprehensive review of night image enhancement techniques. We study various techniques of night image enhancement and here presents basic four techniques for review. The first technique presents fast and efficient method to derive day time natural color and apply to the night time imagery. The second technique used modified Wigner distribution for enhancement of images taken in poor light conditions and it presents better capability to deal with noisy images. The third technique presents a method for coloring the night vision imagery by using a framework consisting of hill climbing algorithm, no linear diffusion, region recognition and fuzzy based image fusion. The fourth technique presents a novel approach of stochastic resonance for image enhancement. Every technique has its own merits and demerits.
