Abstract

In the era of global business, quality of human resources, skilled and knowledgeable employees are highly essential. It is frequently noted that quality human resources act as a prerequisite for competitive advantage and competitive edge of any business. Genius begins and labor finishes is an age old saying that would be profoundly significant if interpreted in the context of the corporate and larger employees. Hence, now days the word welfare is being chanted by the HR managers in almost all the companies. It is anything that gives comfort and improvement of employees over and above their salaries/wages. Welfare in the broader sense means “well-being of the employee”. Welfare measures are taken by the management to create a good environment in which the workers feel satisfied both physically and mentally and produce the best results by putting their maximum efforts. It keeps morale and motivation of employees very high and tries to retain the employee in long run. The study is been taken up to know the extent of effectiveness in the welfare practices implemented in organization, its effect on productivity and job satisfaction. In view of this a survey was carried out to check the awareness of employees about welfare practices in the Capital IQ.
