Abstract

The present study is entitled “Tribal Women Empowerment Through Kudumbasree Units: A Study on the Ulladan Tribe of the North Paravur Taluk in Ernakulam District of Kerala”. The study is an attempt to assess the level of empowerment achieved by the womenfolk of Ulladan Tribe through Kudumbasree Units. Primary data required for the study was collected from the 50 Kudumbasree members representing 5 Kudumbasrees of Paravur Taluk. On the basis of the available data collected and also on the basis of observations, the researcher comes to the conclusion that a significant change had happened in the socio economic and political life and general skills of the respondents through the Kudumbasree Units.
