India, a leading industrially advanced developing country has large, medium and small industrial units of production in almost all branches of the industry. Among them, Cement industry is one of the key industries playing a vital role in the growth and development of a nation. Cement is the most preferred building material in India and its demand in the economy can be linked to the economic developmental activity in the country. Indian cement industry is currently ranked second in the world behind china. A country may possess abundant physical resources, but it cannot make rapid economic and social advancement unless it possesses people who are enterprising and have developed necessary skills and attitudes. Human Resource Development is a framework for the expansion of human capital within the organisation. Human Resource Development is a combination of Training and Education that ensures the continual improvement and growth of both the individual and the organisation. Hence, the study is based on certain objectives, they are to measure the effectiveness of training programmes in terms of trainers in the cement units; to explore various factors that would help to figure out training methods and to suggest with the suitable suggestions.
