Effect of core training on cardio respiratory endurance and shooting for accuracy variables of football players

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of Core Training on Respiratory Endurance and Shooting for Accuracy Variables of Football Players. For the purpose of the study 20 Football players were selected as subjects at random from Aditya vidyasram higher secondary school football players, villianoor, puducherry and their age ranged from 14 – 17 years as per their school records. The selected subjects were divided in to two groups each group consist of 10 subjects namely Experimental and Control group, experimental group was underwent the core training programme for the period of 12 weeks with the duration of 45 minutes. The training was started at 6.30 am and it was given for 3 days per week. whereas the control group not participated any training programme other than the regular activities, The data was collected from the two groups (school level male soccer players) before and after the training programme on cardio Respiratory Endurance was measured by cooper twelve minutes run test and Shooting for Accuracy variables was measured by Mor-Christian general soccer ability skill test battery of football players “Analysis of Covariance” was used. The level of significance was fixed at 0.05 level of confidence. The results of the study revealed that the cardio respiratory endurance and shooting accuracy was significantly improved due to twelve weeks core training programme when compared to the control group.
