The world is rapidly moving towards e-commerce, though there are still doubts about the security preparedness. The growth has been largely due to the improvement in security technologies, specifically the encryption techniques. The present paper describes how cryptography is being used to address modern business requirements such as identity protection, secure web access and digital signatures.
