Abstract

Human resource management is the management of an organization's workforce, or human resources. HRM is responsible for the attraction, selection, training, assessment, and appraisal and rewarding of employees. However, it also oversees organizational leadership and culture, and ensures compliance with employment and labor laws. The organisations have to ensure that the employers and workers enjoy a secure, stable, economical and transparent system where the work is conducted in as safe, sound and risk-free manner as possible. Quality of work life refers to favorableness or unfavorable ness of a job environment for people. The dual objective is to develop jobs that are excellent for people on one side and production on another side. QWL deals with the design of work systems that develop the working life experiences of organizational members and also improve their commitment for achieving organizational goals. Adequate and fair compensation, healthy working conditions, opportunity for work growth, social integrations are such factors with which quality of work life can be enhanced. Various factors that affect the quality of work life are attitude, environment, opportunities, nature of job, people, stress level, career prospects, challenges, growth and development and risk involved in the work and rewards.
