Employees are valuable assets for any business firm and this asset performs as a nub on which the base of organization is built. Organization culture plays very significant role in crafting a learning environment. During the past century, many approaches to human resource management have been adopted by organizations. In earlier 19th century employees were treated as factor of production in Scientific Management approach (Taylor, 1900s) and later on their emotions are considered with psychological needs in Human Relation approach. In the present era, lifestyle of employees is changing significantly, as a result their working patterns, career cycles and job preference also changed. Organizations should take care of all the needs of employees in this turbulent time. If employee's expectations are not fulfilled they tend to switch over to the other better company. Paying salaries, training and development programmes, good relations with supervisor are not the only factors to make employee happy, organizations have to do something extra and innovative than traditional benefits. Attracting, motivating and retaining employees are the major concerns for the present business firms. The paper focuses on such innovative HR practices implemented by various firms to retain, motivate and make him feel comfortable. The data is taken from secondary sources.
