Abstract

Psychological well being is an imperative concept in the area of psychology. A person‘s psychological well-being directly affects how they think and feel about their job and organisation. In the current study, the psychological well being of faculty members of business schools is being studied. In the context of faculty members, psychological well-being is critical because faculty has very important role in the building of future of students and the attitudes and performance of a faculty matters a lot to the students and educational institutes. There are various factors which can influence the psychological well being of an individual. One of the factors is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence has been occupying a significant place in well being literature. In current study 54 faculty members from management institutes in Faridabad have been studied. A situational test by Singh and Chaddha, 2001 was used to measure emotional intelligence and Ryff‘s scale of Psychological Well being (Ryff, 1995) was used to measure psychological well being of faculty members. Results of correlations and regression depict that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well being of faculty members.
