Influence of subject of study on student engagement in higher education

Abstract

Student engagement is primarily about increasing achievement, positive behavior, involvement in studies, and sense of belongingness. This study intended to find out the significant difference of student engagement of higher education students by sex and also to find out the influence of Subject of study on Student Engagement. In this study 639 graduate students participated and completed student engagement scale and personal information schedule. Results of the study revealed that there exists significant sex difference on student engagement and its dimensions. The study also showed that subject of study has significant influence on over all engagement as well as behavioral, emotional and cognitive engagement.
