Abstract

This research paper titled “Development of Need-Based Material in English for Students of Engineering Courses” begins with an introduction on the importance of English in the global market with challenges and competitions and moves with an analysis on the text materials in English for the students of engineering courses. Besides highlighting the global advantages of developing the communicative competence in English, the paper pinpoints the innovations that could be implemented in the pedagogical aspects in language teaching. The paper, through research findings, brings to light the proficiency level of the students of engineering courses in English and offers solutions for betterment in curriculum designing as the concluding part of the paper.
