Abstract

Self-Help Groups are economic organization whose aim is to alleviate poverty and empower women. It provides financial services to the women's and helps them in removing poverty as well as improving the women entrepreneur. In this paper, an attempt has been made to understand the concept of self help groups. This paper identify it's linked to banks and other programs. For the present study, one null hypothesis is prepare that is Self Help Groups do not empower women. The data is collected from 600 respondents of randomly selected SHGs of Rajasthan. The hypothesis is analyzed by weighted mean value and percentage method. The result of the study indicates that respondents join SHGs to raise their status in the society. It brings enviable changes and enhancement in the living conditions of women. It makes women's economically and socially empowered.
