In India the consumption of convenience food is increasing due to raise of working women, industrialization, urbanization, split up in joint family system, lack of time, rise in per capita income, changing life style which results into an increased need for convenience. These effects had brought many changes in the food consumption pattern. Keeping in mind the products which are designed to make possible by reducing the number of steps it takes before a person can take bite.
The aim of this paper is the study of martial dissimilarities towards the consumption of convenience food.
Data collection was done by using structured interview schedule and analyzed with SPSS 18.0 in order to identify the difference between marital status and the various attributes of the processed convenience food. The Z-test was used for testing the hypotheses.
The result shows that there is a significant difference between married and unmarried respondents on the product attributes and sensory attributes. It was observed that the behavioural, packing, health consequence factors of married and unmarried were not significantly different.
The study will pitch glow on the market and its prospective of processed convenience food products.
