Using ICT for competency in higher education

Learning and upgrading knowledge is an essential part of human life. It goes on continuously and consistently, either knowingly or unknowingly, throughout life. This process should keep up pace with up-to-the-minute developments in the world. One such most recent development is use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the domain of higher education. The modern people use technology for various purposes. There is no aspect of human life which is untouched by technology today so they can not survive without technology even for a second. In such a scenario, the realm of education can not isolate itself from the influence of ICT. It has become a prerequisite to be a techno-savvy for every learner and teacher. The present paper deals with the use of ICT for competence building in higher education. It focuses on the use of ICT for building competence of teachers and administrators by identifying the areas which ICT can easily tackle for effective pedagogic and administrative concerns.
