Issues regarding the elderly people in the Jiu Valley

The paper aims at identifying the perception of the representatives of the Jiu Valley community related to several aspects about elderly people residing in the Jiu Valley. After the introductory section and acquaintance with some generality concerning elderly people care in Romania, the practical applied section illustrates the perception of the Jiu Valley community as regards the difficulties and social-economic problems challenging the older people in the area. The research methodology was realised during a workshop applying the focus group method, by combining the use of interactive participative methods such as debate, brainstorming, and podium technique with the semi-structured interview applied to the representatives of the community.
