Investing in stock markets is a major challenge for all investing community. The financial position of BSE and NSE from 2000 onwards is quite satisfactory. The yearly trends in the benchmark indices over the period under review showed uniformity. While the returns were most negative, volatility was the highest in 2008 for both Sensex and Nifty.
