Ethical leadership

The recent scandals of Enron, Arthur Andersen, WorldCom, Tyco, Parmalat and Satyam are glaring examples where leaders failed ethically. In these companies, corporate leaders engaged in unethical decisions resulting in loss of public trust in the leadership. Leadership is a privilege and a responsibility that demands a good deal from the leaders. Leadership is defined as a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal Ethical leadership is a part of the definition of good leadership. To be more specific, ethical leadership really has two elements. This paper covers introduction to ethical leadership, habits of strong ethical leaders, and characteristics of an ethical leader. The various types of powers used by the ethical leaders are also the part of the paper. This paper concludes about that how an individual can be the best ethical leader and hoe he can manage the others.
