Abstract

A correlation study was conducted to know the relation between mental health in relation to their job satisfaction among teacher educators’ working in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. The Job Satisfaction scale (JSS) developed by Meera Dixit (1993) was used to assess and analyse the job satisfaction of teacher educators. The findings of the study show that there is no correlation between job satisfaction and mental health of teacher educators on the basis of ‘gender’, ‘age’, ‘marital status’, ‘teaching experience’, ‘management of the institution’ and ‘location of the teacher working’. It is concluded that special measures should be taken in view of the results of research by policy makers and school administrators, in order to lower down the problems faced by the teacher educators. School administrators and higher educational authorities should arrange in-service education programs for teachers to refresh their knowledge of content and teaching methods. It would be better if limited workload according to the capacity of the teacher educators is given to them and special facilities like medical facilities, arrangement of transport, special increment and rewards will be also helpful in boosting the mental health of the teacher educators.
