Abstract

People lying below the poverty line were being deprived of effective and improved health care services provided at the sub centre level of Serampore Municipality. Inconvenience and poverty for getting effective and improved health care services from nearby Hospitals or from Private centres were being noted from the survey report. Moreover, lack of adequate health care services were provided by the Part Time Medical Officers (PTMOs) of most of the ULBs. Poor networking of existing Health Care infrastructures were also observed. Besides these, lack of motivation on behalf of Health workers & PTMOs for achieving 100 per cent immunization coverage to the children beneficiaries in addition to poor health status of Mother beneficiaries due to sufferings of Anaemia of varied etiology were recorded for considering this project for implementation.
