Abstract

This study is an attempt to understand the relationship between employee welfare and job satisfaction. Employee welfare is a common term used in many organizations these days but few have analyzed the effectiveness of employee welfare on job satisfaction. For the purpose of the study researchers have chosen two multinational giants in Sri Lanka where one is involved in manufacturing of dairy related products and the other is in the business of beverages. Researchers have taken a sample of 150 non executive operation level employees from a population of 600 for the study. Through a questionnaire developed using Likert scale researcherswere trying to find a correlation between these two variables and have been successful on this.

According to the statistical analysis of the study, that there is a strong positive correlation between employees’ perception about welfare and job satisfaction in these two organizations. Further it has also revealed that employees valued certain specific welfare programs over the others according to their feedback given through the questionnaire.
