Economics of barseem cultivation on different farm size groups: with special reference to Rajouri district of J&K

Abstract

The present research paper is limited to Rajouri District of J&K. To proportionate with the objective of study multistage stratified random sampling techniques has been used. Barseem was the only fodder crops of study area. Athematic mean, frequency, percentage coefficient of regression and correlation technique was used for estimating the cost and returns and resource productivity. In Rabi season barseem was only the fodder crop grown at the study area. The overall cost of input used was in Barseem production comes to Rs5758.23 Per hectare gross income increase with increase in the farm size. Net income over cost c1, c2 and c3 increases with the increase in farm size. Barseem provides positive returns to the farmers of all farm size groups
