Abstract

The spectrum sensing problem has gained new aspects with cognitive radio and opportunistic spectrum access approach. To identify the spectrum holes is one of the most challenging issues in cognitive radio systems. This paper explores various sensing methods, their performance, applicability and effectiveness under different transmission conditions and advantages and disadvantages incorporated with each sensing method. In this paper we evaluate the performance of cognitive radio with energy detection based spectrum sensing and cyclo-stationary feature is used for Spectrum sensing.
