The Indian banking sector is made up of both private and public sector banks. Lakshmi Vilas Bank Limited is one of the old private sector banks. The bank was incorporated on November 03, 1926 under the Indian Companies Act, 1913. The Bank obtained its license from Reserve Bank of India in June 1958 and in August 1958 it became a Scheduled Commercial bank. The development of Lakshmi Vilas Bank Limited is analysed with the help of trend analysis. The trend analysis relating to some of the variables like Paid up Capital, Reserves and Surplus, Deposits, Advances and Net Profit of the LVBs Ltd is studied for eleven years from 2003–04 to 2013–14. The analysis clearly indicated the positive growth of paid up capital, reserves and surplus, deposits and advances. The fluctuating profit position indicates that profit position is decreasing during the last two years. The net profit position of the bank must be improved.
