Abstract

The present study analyses the levels of industrial development and disparity at two points of time i.e. 1994–95 and 2011–12 across the districts of Odisha. District wise industrial development indices are constructed by using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Eight indicators of industrial development are considered. The districts are classifieds into developed, moderately developed and less developed on the basis of their respective development index values. The study finds that Odisha has experienced industrial development over the last eighteen years along with a decline in the disparity level across the districts.
