War as The Motivation for Scientific Knowledge

In this paper I demonstrate that the need for destruction is one of the motivations for gaining scientific knowledge. I invoke the history of development of atomic bomb to argue my case. The large amounts of funds needed for testing a scientific hypothesis were made available, because of its potential for destruction.
