This paper attempts to find out the role of HRM and HRD in job satisfaction in public sector banks. There are several variables linked with job satisfaction they are recruitment, selection practices, working conditions, promotions, salary, work life balance, transfer, physical, physiological and social conditions etc. These all cumulatively play an significant role in Job satisfaction among employees. The objective of this paper is to study the role, factors and advantage affecting job satisfaction and to find out importance of HRM and HRD practices in job satisfaction with reference to public sector banks. Sampling used in this research is simple random sampling. The survey is conducted on employees of Public Sector Bank. The target audience was managers, officers and clerks. One hundred sixty employees of selected Banks located at various place in Southern Rajasthan were approached to ascertain their views on job satisfaction. The results indicate that HRM and HRD practices are positively correlated with Job Satisfaction. Existence of a positive relationship between HRM/HRD practices and job satisfaction among employees were ascertained to have contributed substantially for the profit and overall development of the organization.
