Abstract

Simien National Park is one of the famous eco tourist attract in Ethiopia and in the world. The history of the park is differentiated by resource use conflicts and pressures that could threaten the current quality of the visitor environment and world heritage in danger. Eco-tourism is the main motivation to conserve its biodiversity and artistic beauty in Simien National Park of Ethiopia. It has revealed that the better environmentally friendly and created awareness amongst the local people though the economic reward tourism. Tourism sector is becoming the main important income generation for livelihood in nearby towns which supports the traditional farmers in and around the park by generating extra income. Different employment opportunities are created for the rural young especially in Debark town. Tourism in the park is establishing a sustainable development for the local communities and service providers to get benefit from a high standard of living. This paper has summarized how tourism is attracts the visitors of Simien National Park.
