Provisions of Iron Folic Acid (IFA) Under Sabla Scheme

Abstract

The current study attempted to find out the provision of Iron Folic Acid (IFA) under Sabla scheme to the Adolescent Girls in the age group of 11–18 years of Imphal West-1 District, Manipur (India). Altogether 100 respondents Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) were taken through cluster sampling technique responded the self developed Questionnaire. The result of the study indicated that 77% of AWCs received IFA supplement only one time since the implementation of the scheme whereas 23% of the AWCs did not received the Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplement. Different numbers of Iron Folic Acid tablets (tabs) are received by the Adolescent Girls Some of the Adolescent Girls received 3 tablets, 4 tabs, 5 tabs, 20 tabs, 25 tabs, 40 tabs, 50 tabs and 52 tabs each. Suggestions for further studies are recommended.
