The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of birth order on Locus of Control and also to indentify the type of Locus of control exercised among adolescents. 74 students from Perks Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Uppilipalayam, Coimbatore, were randomly selected as the sample for the study. The sample consisted of 38 male and 36 female students. Levenson's Scale for Locus of Control was administered to the sample to indentify the type of control. A demographic survey was designed to determine the birth position. The data was analyzed using regression analysis. The results of the study inferred that the birth order negatively influenced the type of control exercised on the child and External locus of control is most commonly employed by the sample.
