Role play is one of the teaching techniques which has been widely accepted and used in English language classes for many years both in Vietnam and in many other countries in the world. Role playing provides students with a chance to act out, rather than merely talk about, ways to solve problem effectively. In role play, a person can learn not only how to act in different ways but also why other people may act as they do. This creates enormous potential for the improvement of interpersonal interactions. In this case, the students can step out of their normal roles and into another role. In role play the students can take one of the characters based on role card which tells them how they feel. Then we add the elements of giving the participants information about which they are, and what they feel. In the present paper pre-post test experimental design was employed. The main finding of paper shows that students performed well by Role play technique as compared to traditional classroom teaching. So it is important to remember that it can be employed as a useful tool towards obtaining results which help teachers to carry out their task better and more effectively
