Examining The Difference Among Three Socio Economic Status in Relation to Vocational Interest of Adolescents

The sample for the investigation consisted of 300 adolescents studying in 10th class, inclusive both boys and girls. The sample was taken from six schools of Rohtak city. Standardized tool was used to measure the variable Vocational Interest Record (VIR) (Kulshrestha, 1984). For analysis of data, mean, standard deviation, and ANOVA were computed. Difference among three socio-economic status was calculated. To check the significant difference among three socio-economic status (SES), ANOVA was applied, and a significant difference was found between three SES in artistic, commercial, social and house hold jobs. It is clear from the tables (4.3.6 A and 4.3.6 B) that lower SES students preferred commercial, artistic and house-hold jobs as compared to middle SES and upper SES, whereas middle SES adolescents preferred social jobs as compared to lower and upper SES. And no difference was found between three SES in literary, scientific, executive, constructive, persuasive and agricultural jobs.
