Abstract

The present study is carried out in order to study Homeopathy practice and its effect on Infertility. Homeopathy is a system of natural health care that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as the second largest therapeutic system in use in the world. While it is most popular in India and South America, over thirty million people in Europe, and millions of other around the world, also benefitted from its use. The study concluded different practices in homeopathy treatment across different places and its effect on infertility. Some authors supported the view that alternative medicines may be useful in treating infertility. Some researchers conducted clinical trials to check the effect of individualized homeopathy on male infertility based on sperm count and they concluded that the rate of improvement in sperm count through homeopathic therapy is comparable to the improvement achieved by conventional therapy, so that individualized-homeopathic treatment may be considered a useful alternative to conventional treatment of sub-fertile men. Some examined the patterns of use of alternative and hormonal therapies in men presenting for infertility evaluation. Results suggested that a significant percentage of men presenting for infertility evaluation do use alternative therapies. Some also concluded that concluded that traditional practices were more prevalent in the rural areas and among the older couples. Few researchers evaluated the effect of homeopathy on the semen of bulls with reproductive disorders. Study concluded that the use of homeopathy apparently improved the production of viable doses of semen from bulls with previous freezing problems and poor semen quality. Some clinicians actually treated few cases of female infertility with Homeopathic treatment successfully in Athens.
