Emotions are all-pervasive in an organization. These emotions can either positive or negative. Several things persuade in making a good leader and a strong individual. Knowledge, drive, ambition, resourcefulness, force of will, intellect, etc. But there is one factor that almost all successful people share-Emotional Intelligence. Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions. Some suggest that Emotional Intelligence can be learned, strengthened while other claim it is an inborn of characteristic. This article focuses on emotional intelligence in IT employees emphasizing their feelings on appreciation, personal understanding and growth and also integrating their emotion and cognition. This study intends to explore the self reported awareness and need of emotional intelligence of employee that has responsibility to ensure the code of conduct. It can be concluded that the employees are having pressure while performing the task which can be identified through their body language. However, the employees are able to meet the expectations of the superiors with their support and cooperation.
