Abstract

Modern methods of Goods and Public Transportation provides various level of transporting services for Indian Railway so as both the people and the government will be benefited by this methods. The main aim of this research paper is to evaluate the modern methods that can help the railways to provide better services to the public. The areas where I concentrated and defined are prominent and key sources of development/Changes required in this sector. I stated some ZERO EXPENDITURE policies that can really help for the up gradation of Indian Railways. some of them are Overall containerization of most important raw materials like coal, Iron ore, bauxite…etc minerals which are bulk are to be containerized and transported from source to the destination through containers only. Separate Transportation Stations For ‘A &B’ class Railway stations. Separate Goods Express trains that can cover the rural stations and the importance of Coastal shipping and inland waterways in India. I also discussed various sources of funds and expenditure of funds that are followed by Railway. Major drawbacks of Indian Railways are stated like Operations plays a key role and how railway is marketing their products, non peak time running services etc forms a great loss to Indian railways how to avoid this and progress with service oriented methods that can help the development of the railways and the country at large.
