Historically, men have enjoyed several advantages over women in their life chances. For example, men have had, on average, higher occupational status, a higher rate of self-employment, and higher incomes than women. One of the growing dimensions in entrepreneurship is gender as more women are invading in this masculine entrepreneurial world. Unlike western set-up, the Asian women face many visible and invisible social barriers along with embedded gender discrimination still the entrepreneurial trends among women are observed. Demographics is one of the most important factors affecting entrepreneurship, job creation, and innovation. Demographic change shapes all issues that occupy most economic discussions — education, employment policy, taxes, technological changes, and more. Demographic analysis anticipates future trends, helping decision makers to prepare policy interventions accordingly. This empirical study is intended to study the ‘Demographic Profile’ of male and female entrepreneurs and identify the gender gap in the ‘Demographic Profile’ of the male and female entrepreneurs, if any. The ‘Demographic Profile’ included gender, marital status of respondent, working status of spouse, formal business education, mode of starting the business, style of management and but for ‘mode of starting the business’ gender gap has been identified in rest.
