Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is impetus for economic development especially for the developing and underdeveloped countries. FDI brings along innumerable benefits to an economy, for instance, it strengthens domestic capital, generates employment, augments productivity, fosters exports, modern technology and many more. There are manifold determinants which lead to either increase or decrease in the FDI inflows in any economy. In the context of this, the present study aimed to determine co-integration between road connectivity and FDI inflows in India during the post-liberalised period. To examine whether co-integration existed or not between the chosen variables under study, Engel-Granger approach of co-integration was applied and co-integration vector was built. The results of the study enunciated that there co-integration existed between road connectivity and FDI inflows in India during the post-liberalised period.
