Abstract

In the present job scenario where there is cut throat competition, a stress free job is a myth. Given the pressure to perform and compete, stress will be a natural concomitant. The Banking industry is not an exceptional one. The present study seeks to determine the impact of various constituents of occupational stress on the employees of the banking sector. This study is confined only to Ernakulam, Kerala. The pilot study was conducted on a sample of 40 employees. Random sampling was used. It was found that occupational stress was higher in the private sector bank employees than the public sector bank employees.
