Abstract

History of Ancient India opens in the land of Kurus, now known as“Kurukshetra”. It is the traditional “seat of creation” and “cradle of Indian culture and Civilization”. Many Vedic literatures and early Sanskrit works including the Rigveda, often described as one of the oldest available testaments of the Aryans, and the famous epic “Mahabharata” were composed here. The valleys where the sacred rivers Saraswati and Drsadvati flows, resounded with the first chantings of vedic mantras and also witnessed the evolution of moral and ethical values.
