Factors responsible for career success among women physicians of Tirupur – A study

Identifying and realising the factors that lead to success would go a long way in helping the working woman understand her position in her career ladder. She has the dual responsibilities of caring for her home as well as her own career. Once she realises her progression in success, it would be easier for her to cope up with her problems as they give her a psychological support. This research was carried out with the objective of identifying the factors responsible for subjective career success among a sample of 42 woman physicians of Tirupur with the help of a well structured questionnaire. Weighted average and percentage analysis were used for analysing the data. Findings indicate that the woman physicians feel that a woman needs self identity. To be successful they need the intelligence to use whatever resources they have efficiently. Women can experience success if they have healthy relations with the people around them. Taking up enough responsibilities with optimistic judgment makes one succeed in her life.
