Abstract

The spectrum sensing problem has obtained new aspects with cognitive radio and opportunistic spectrum access approach. The most challenging issue in cognitive radio systems is to identify the spectrum holes. This paper discusses various sensing methods, their performance, applicability and effectiveness under different transmission conditions. Advantages and disadvantages of various sensing method are also discussed. In this paper we evaluate the performance of cognitive radio with energy detection based spectrum sensing and cyclo-stationary feature is used for Spectrum sensing.
